That guy who played keyboards/turntables for us over the last year has (has had) his own thing called Bounte. It's Orbital-esque in structure, Depeche Modey in feeling, quite sophisticated and danceable. And it's now available in the Flagrant Store. I'm pretty sure this is the only place you can get the actual CD and downloads are also available.
Next Tuesday marks the debut of Corey's own thing, called Moritat, at Darkroom here in Chicago. We're all going out to show support and you should do the same! Doors are at 8 P.M. and they're going on first so get there early.
I think I can speak for the whole band when I say our 10 day tour + 2 weekend shows has left us disoriented and exhausted. The local shows being the real kicker. I feel like my life has been in a state of flux for about a month now - either planning a tour, being on tour, rehearsing, or playing. You have to remember we're not by any means a hard workin' band. We tend to use smarts over hustle. I guess my being right in the middle of building out my studio space, my little girl having yet another ear infection, and being sick off and on myself hasn't helped. Anyway, we're looking forward to taking a little break, retooling a bit, working on our next EP, and heading up to Minneapolis for a show with Maudlin on May 16th (details coming soon . . . )
In sort of melancholic news, we've wrecked Dean's life. I'm kidding, of course. But between Bounte, the upcoming launch of Beatserv, his job, his life, many independent websites he designs and maintains, and the prospect of being dragged out on the road 3-4 times a year - he's decided to opt for safer waters and not play keys for the live version of Atomica Project any longer. He did a fuck of a job while we had him and he will certainly be missed. We're all still friends, I'm still producing his record, and we're still in the middle of some serious empire building. We've asked the multi-talented Daniel Cain (formerly of Terminal Bliss) to take over the keyboard duties and we're pretty excited to start working with him.
In other news, our beloved embedded photographer, Peter Boysen, has posted some shots he took of the tour. He's posted them on SmugMug, where you can order prints of your favorites. Seriously, he's such an amazing photographer and should probably be working for the NYTimes instead of hanging around with the likes of us. Go show him some love.
That's the update for now. I'll be submerged in fixing up my space, writing for the EP, starting production on the new iScintilla! record, and hopefully working on some Biography Channel jobs for the next few weeks.

We will be performing @ Collaboraction this Saturday! It's a local event to support the theater and arts community in Chicago and apparently has the reputation of being a crazy all night bash of sorts. While tickets are not cheap ($30/$60) they include an open bar and are for a very worthy cause. Buy tickets here.
