Blog
I got better. And now, I'm kind of sick again. Not deathy sick, but sorta kinda sick. I feel under the weather.
I've started a whole bunch of new projects this week. Namely, the 2nd Bounte record is now officially underway. The Milkfish EP that will never ever be done has made a little bit of progress, and I'm making some ground on the a new Atomica Project EP. Everything is a work in progress here. Also, Dean and I are starting an online, boutique style loop shop. We're calling it Beatserv and if you like looking a blank pages with cool logos on them, you can check it out for yourself. Essentially, what we're doing is making loops for other musicians to use in their music. I've done this for many of my friends, bands I know, and was, at one time, paid to create loops for aspiring pop bitches (sorry, there's just no other word that fits) out in New York.
So, if you're a musician type that reads this blog - this should be exciting news. If you're not a musician, well, good for you. More details to come . .
Lauren called me at 8:20 a.m. on the day of our show. She couldn't speak. I could barely make out what she was saying. Somehow, she managed to get through our show.
In a completely unrelated incident, I got a fever high enough to kill me last night, and Catherine hasn't moved from the couch all morning. Yes, it's officially Flu Season in Chicago. All the Vitamin C this side of the Mississippi can't save us now
Just a quick reminder, Atomica Project is playing at Darkroom here in Chicago tomorrow night. We will be joined by 2 very cool bands, Woven, and Panda Riot.
This will probably be our last show for a bit as Dean and I have much to do in the form of the new Bounte record. Lauren and I are also in the thinking about it phase of the next Atomica Project record, which Corey will certainly have a hand in the making of. Yay!
It's been cool to see Dean evolve from a super talented but sorta unsure electronic musician into the programming magnate that he is today. I've got the inside track on hearing what he's been doing as I'm working on what will assumedly be called "Two," the next full length Bounte record. Along the way, he has given us a quick holdover in the form of Maximal. It's just good dance music, plain and simple. Or as plain and simple as Bounte gets.
Go, listen, enjoy, and support.
