Sorry, I had a slice of pizza in one hand, a mouse in the other, and Ella was moving in on me. I do have a couple of things to add.

I wanted to put Grayscale out as a digital only a while back. It didn’t seem like a feasible idea at the time. It’s still a stretch for a small artist to do so at this point but since I’ve known Chris and Elle – well, that’s just kind of “how we do.” It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that they are one of the first independent labels to go in this direction. And it won’t surprise me if they (and in turn I) are relatively successful going this route. Of course, that all depends on you more than anyone - but I have faith.

So, the reasons I wanted to put Grayscale out this way were many. Among them – I wasn’t very happy with all of the tracks on the record. I especially wasn’t happy about some of the tracks that didn’t make it onto the record. It was an incomplete work, as far as the traditional 11-12 track CD went. I would have loved to have released just a 6 track EP as Grayscale Part 1 – and another 6-7 track CD as Part 2 with some new and reworked recordings. Doing that with the costs of pressing CD’s was not only unrealistic, but silly. Since that time, I think I’ve modified both some of the tracks and the space in my head for Grayscale to flourish as one solid piece of work – don’t quote me on that. Digital only opens up a metric fuck-ton of options for the artist. I just reread what I wrote 2 sentences ago and it’s got me thinking of all sorts of different approaches.

I’m not trying to bitch about my CD, I’m trying to point out some of the finer creative benefits of a digital release. Of course, you’ll see them for yourselves in the coming year. With the constant chaos of my life, I’d been thinking it would just be impossible to release anything at all in 2008. Now, I’m all excited about the 5 or 6 ep’s I plan to do.

And if you’re of the old school, won’t leave the old school, and don’t care about the new school – there’s a decent chance that the Atomica material will be sold on CD at our shows. Assuming we do some shows. I can give you a heads up that the remaining Christ Analogue CD’s, the CA shirts, the Atomica shirts, will be available directly from me. I’ll be putting together a website (or extending a current site) that allows you to get all of that via a simple Paypal purchase. I’m terrible – and I do mean terrible – about shipping. But rest assured, Catherine works downtown right by the post office. We’ll have the same speedy shipping you’ve come to know and love.

Now, ignore that last paragraph and go buy something digital!

I've put up a couple on new links that will become very relevant as we get closer to the actual release of Grayscale.

First off, our Flickr account - I'll be uploading a lot of raw art and photos that I've used to make the art for Grayscale.

Also, we've created an account on Youtube. Most of you have already seen the Delorian Video so it's just a place holder for the time being. I'll be throwing up some interviews, footage of mix sessions, and so on over the next couple months. We're also contemplating doing another video for one (or more?!) of the tracks on Grayscale.
