Blog

2008, is on.

Anyone else notice every time I post a blog that's laughably harsh, L follows it up with something amazingly sappy? I've had a few readers point that out to me. Such is the balance that defines Atomica. I've actually, since I tend to spend a whole lot of time talking about things that have nothing to do with Atomica and tend to not care for much commentary, started a new blog. Blogger is kind of silly but it's linked right up to my Gmail account and blah, blah, corporate synergy, blah, blah. You'll still get your Atomica related news and rants from me right here - but for other ranting and to follow the unadulterated excitement that is my life, check over there.

Anyway, I guess I'm now back into the swing of things. The last 14 days seem to have been sucked from my grasp. Granted, there was Xmas, there's the whole condo ordeal, and just settling back in takes time. But most of my time has been spent lion taming (taking care of Ella). I keep reading things like "creative children" and "strong willed children" can be very difficult to care for. That's encouraging. I'll be very happy when all that materializes. In the meantime, well, I'm pretty much getting my ass kicked by a little girl.

We were supposed to paint our new place this weekend. There's no heat. It's long story but a summary would read like this - the guy who owns the building rigged the gas lines so now our place is under investigation by the gas company. We have to fax all kinds of documents to prove we weren't the ones stealing from People's Gas. Hopefully it'll all be cleared up by next weekend. We're paying both a mortgage and rent next month which makes my butt hurt just thinking about it - but it looks like we could use the extra time.

I just got out of a cab driven by a Pakistani man who was on the phone to Pakistan the whole time. In between his conversations with his family abroad we had quite the conversation ourselves. The situation is heartbreaking and all I can do from here is pray that his family will be alright.

Benazir Bhutto was who I held onto for my very simplified belief that Pakistan was something more than a country full of fucked up crazy people. So much for that theory!
