Blog

the blanket of gray that has taken over our sky is killing me quickly. Every year I live in this city I swear the winter will be my end. I'm not sure I can take it again and it's only the beginning. I wake up and it's dark, I spend the day in the gray and then I get home and it's dark again without anything resembling the sun in between. It's amazing we're all not killing ourselves. I have a sneaking suspicion that I wrote this same blog last year and likely the year before...I hate fighting for my sanity but sometimes this weather just pushes me way too close to the edge.

and it's so beautiful and snowy outside to boot. We had a whole bunch a' Jews and a few non Jews over for latkes and sufganiot and wine! lit the candles and the whole bit. I do believe this has been one of the nicest first nights of Hanukkah I have ever had. Oh and I got the game Stratego for my present tonight. sweet.

or rather it was on Saturday night. I had to actually chip my car out of an icy blanket after only two hours at the barn. It's officially winter! and there's more snow in the forecast. which I am a little excited for.

I went and had my oil changed at Jiffy lube today. why is it every time I go for a 20/30 dollar oil change I leave there having spent a minimum of $100? I think that they bamboozle me every time. hmmm.

tasty.

I really don't have much to say but feel I ought to drop a line whilst Wade is away on tour doing tour-y stuff. I got back last night from Colorado - which was lovely though in my old age I seem to be struggling with altitude more and more. I feel kind of pathetic.

I wish Chicago weather was like Denver's...two days of freezing cold, two days of fifty, sunny, gorgeous and dry. wishful thinking keeps me going. The thought of the next 4 - 6 months in this state does not keep me going. brrrr. yuck.

for the first day back at work I am surprisingly ecstatic. seriously. life doesn't suck.
