The SMP record I produced with Jason last year has finally been released! You can pick it up/check it out at CDbaby. I'm still really happy with the sound quality of the record and it got a really nice mastering job from Hanzsek Audio - one of my old friends out in Seattle.

If that weren't enough, there's a great Bounte remix on there. You know the drill, go grab a copy and support independent music

so, i woke up in a pretty good mood this morning. it's funny - it will probably take me less than a full day to finish our album. yes, less than 8 hours of uninterrupted work should be more than enough. that's kind of sad when you think about how long it's taken me and how close i actually am to finishing. i've got next tuesday all reserved for just that.

so anyway, my good mood. as a result of said mood, i've decided to share one of my favorite tracks from the upcoming album called "forecast." i put it up on the player @ reverb nation - yet another one of those band service websites. i'll get it up on VIRB later on, maybe even myspace. go check it out , enjoy it, and know there are 10 other tracks coming soon!

dean and i went out and painted the town last night. well, not so much painted - we actually just went to the darkroom and then to 5 star. it left me with a nice throbbing headache for this mornings big event.

we found an amazing home daycare for ella. 2 days a week, reasonably priced, really nice people with long standing ties to our neighborhood, pretty much everything we were looking for. today was her first day and my first day in 13 months alone in our house. it was _weird_ as hell. i didn't do much, just kind of sat around in awe and wonder. having 2 days a week to myself is really going to shake things up, in a good way.

Seriously, since my little girl started walking – my life, my energy, and what I had left of my brainpower is gone. Of course, it’s pretty awesome, she’s a ball of Alin style fire. I have a list of things to do like a mile long. I haven’t even been returning emails. I’m sure I’ll adjust, always do, but I’ve hit a wall for now.

The Chemlab/USSA tour is starting to materialize, dates are booked, plans are being made, and companies are climbing onboard to make my life easier with free compressors and other gear. It should be a fun tour. Or we’ll see if I can still use the words “fun” and “tour” in the same sentence ever again. But I wouldn’t be doing it if I didn’t think it could be. Catherine and Ella will probably get their first trip to the sunny west coast as San Diego is the halfway point of the tour and there’s no way I could go 4 weeks without seeing them. I’d, like, melt or something horrible.

I guess it’s kind of redundant to say I haven’t touched the album. Waiting on tracks from Jamal, waiting to find the brainpower to invite Dean over to play some trumpet. That’s about it.
